Mahershala Ali has played some great characters on the big and small screen. They are usually characters that have personal moral codes, like Boggs in The Hunger Games movies, Don Shirley in Green Book, and Juan in Moonlight.

So can Ali pull off playing the ruthless superhero Blade? He is a two-time Oscar-winning actor so we should give him the benefit of the doubt.

Saw Ali in Alita Battle Angel and, imo, he has the character of Blade tone down pretty good, only one question still remains, how well does he know and can he perform the martial art skills of Blade?

I don't mind him as an actor. But he needs to seriously bulk up. He seems so scrawny compared to Snipes when Snipes was playing blade.

I think Marvel picked the best possible actor to play Blade after the work Wesley Snipes payed down as a foundation. The only thing they could do to ruin this movie is if they water it down or make it a PG-13 movie like the rest of the MCU movies. Blade, at it's heart and soul is a no holds barred bloodbath about a vampire that simply doesn't give a sh*t about being politically correct.

I'll keep an open mind for Mahershala Ali as Blade. Some fan art pics got me excited, but if they do not do a nod to the og Blade movies, bring back Wesley Snipes for at least a cameo, or keep the movie rated R, I'm going to have a huge problem with it

Really set him in one of my favorite actors with Green Book
Alita Battle Angel wasnt anything too special for him but it was a good movie

I actually think Wesley knows something we don't . He wouldn't be so cool about this if he didn't have a "peice of the pie" so to speak . Plus now we have multiple dimensions who's to say both blades won't be on screen together at the same time in some way . Either that or snipes has landed a new role in the mcu . He just seems too cool about this lapping on the praise considering how passionate he was about the role .The thing is The mcu would be crazy not to use him in some way , look how influencial and iconic he was . Fans would que for days to see snipes reprise blade in the current mcu .
