Are the Hapiru in the Amarna Letters Israelites?

Scott Stripling and others have suggested that the Hapiru described in the Amarna Letters were Israelites. This short examines to see if that identification is really feasible.

Is it possible that Hapiru is where we get the term Hebrew but that this term wasn’t limited to the referring to Israel? Is it possible that Israel was a group of Hapiru but not all Hapiru were Israelites?
