Yes...Austin did seem to be The Arranger here. Austin wrote the song. Home Free are breaking out in so many different ways right now. One of these songs are gonna hit just right and get them on radio. Soon I think.

Heard it said that Austin himself said he wrote it about Amberly.

The song is Austin telling his own story. So as he wanders through these people's lives, he tells us of his own experience. The message is a moving one, that love can spread to the world around you, and that love can save you (as Austin believes it has done for him) from despair. I like the fact that the young couple are not glamorous or wealthy in any way, telling us that you don't have to be a tenor with the voice of an archangel to find redemption in love.

This a top-tier pop song with a very relatable theme, & a virtuosic belting male lead vocal. I'll second Rob's tweet which proclaimed "Austin wrote a bop"! #BopConfirmed :)
Why the f### is the likes of this not in the charts, rather than the rancid cynical bulls### that "the industry" injects into it? Good question. I recommend Mark Devlin's excellent book "Musical Truth" to anyone interested in looking into popular music being used as a mass-scale social engineering experiment.

It's just my opinion but I took it that Austin was the voice of the male character's consciousness and that's why Austin wasn't with the other people and would just vanish. I don't know if you noticed that he'd vanish from the truck as well. I think not just the song but the video is on a whole different psychological plane from their previous work. Thank you playing it!

12 of the 14 songs on the album this is from, So Long Dixie, are written by Tim and/or Austin, and friends, with the writer usually the main voice in the song. All of them are wonderful!
Addition: Whoops! I just checked. This is the second video to come from this album. You reacted to the first one almost a month ago. Tim was the lead singer for What's Left of My Heart, which he co-wrote. They're the first and second, not counting the two older songs included on the CD: Everybody Walkin' This Land and Folsom Prison Blues.
