Only difference is planks are 6-same sided, while the log has holes.

Uhhh you can make two bamboo planks with the one stripped bamboo that you placed

1. You can can turn stripped bamboo into more bamboo planks

2. They don't have the sides with holes in case you don't want them

It's exactly like wood blocks and log blocks. It's just meant to be the side plank texture on all 4 sides

I'm guessing it would be for if you wanted the option to have a full wrap around texture for builds rather than a dual texture. If that makes sense.
