Venus Aerospace recently unveiled the Venus Detonation Ramjet Engine (VDR2), marking a major breakthrough in aerospace technology. This advanced propulsion system is engineered to power high-speed vehicles, including drones and aircraft, allowing them to travel vast distances at high altitudes and reach high-Mach speeds with unmatched efficiency. The VDR2 engine can power a commercial vehicle with speeds from Mach 4 to Mach 6 and with over 5000 miles of range.

It's easy to make renders and plans. But to actually pull it off is another goal in itself.

You make that true irl and I'll consider funding your company

The design similarities to the SR-71 Blackbird are pretty evident!

Doctor Sanger and his wife and project partner would be so proud. Far superior design, materials and engines.

Graphics cards don't fly. Airplanes fly. Hopefully.

a fate same as the concorde, perhaps even worse, awaits this, unless yall find a way to make it considerably cheaper

I think an updated concord with room for many more passengers and a few hrs longer flight would be more cost effective

Makes me wonder... why is their rendering of the civilian plane just a regular body and wings with wing-mounted engines? Wouldn't that be horrendous for aerodynamics? Why couldn't they make the civilian plane's design (0:17) more akin to the shown prototype/demonstrator (0:21)? I feel like having the engine be the main body of the plane (with a passenger cabin placed above the engine, like on Cold War era fighters) would make for much better aerodynamics and structural soundness

dang companies are trying to bring back supersonic travel like Boom overture and Venus aerospace, that's insane

Y’all know the test flight for this is like today?

Travelling at these speeds, doesn’t it make collisions much more likely, because there is so little time to avoid another object in its path?

The Commercial SR-71 Blackbird is closer to the Truth.

These planes have been in National Geographic and Popular Mechanics since the _1960s!_
