It's worth mentioning that TT Travel are usually the best rates for foreign exchange in Pattaya. As well as Soi Bukhaow, there is one on Second Rd and another on Beach Rd.

Regarding Soi Bukhaow, like Soi 7 and 8, you can get virtually everything you want, food, drink, 7-11 Mini-marts, Laundry, clothes and "Entertainment" without having to leave the street.

As far as hotels go, I always look for the "5 C's" Cool, Cheap, Convenient, Clean and Comfortable. Most of your "companions" will be living in a single room shared with maybe two or three other girls without AC, so most hotels are a vast improvement on where they normally sleep, and there is no need to impress them with 5* hotels. The hotels that Kev is recommending are probably hard to beat for value.

Hi Kevin, another great informative vid. The hotel is up to my standards, very nice. My biggest complain about hotels is the lack of separation of toilet and shower, no curtain, wall etc. When ever you shower, the entire bathroom is soaked.

For me I prefer the guest house choice for 600 baht a night. I have been going to same one for years and they know which room I like with a balcony so it is reserved for me each time I go (next week in fact). The bar is quiet after midnight as well and very peaceful. For a pool I go to LK Metropole hotel for around 100 baht a day and they have a nice little fitness and sauna area too. Horses for courses though and sure some people will like the cheap hotel route with a pool although I didn't think the room at Opey was much good when I viewed the place but OK for 800 baht a night with pool. The location and pool are the best bits about Opey.

I like soi lenkee, i stayed there for a couple of weeks. It's a great soi within the center of soi buakhao, you got bars - restaurants - food stands - laundry's and familymart/7eleven, basically everything you need, and hotels under 1000baht/night. Also you got the clothing market if you turn left at soi buakhao from soi lenkee, not very far away. Believe it's open tuesday/friday. Thumbs up Kev!

Hey Kev ! Some of the new highrise condos ( Unixx and Centric Sea ) are starting to pop up on Air BnB, probably get a good deal if you stay a month or so ! Stayed at VT6 last time, 1000baht a night, view to die for ! But that'll be gone soon ! Great vlog as always ! ☺

As for accommodation, three things will come into mind. 1) short or long-term, 2) affordable rate and 3) location. Anything that is far from Beach Road will be cheap. Soi Lengkee, Chaiyapoon and Buakhao are good choice for 2-4 star hotels....

I've been in Sutus Court hotel, pretty cheap and nice friendly staff. Pool and jacuzzi available. The double room was around €15-18 per night when I was in January-March period.

My one and only time I've been to Thailand I stayed at the Diana Inn right on the main drag. Excellent with pool et all. They even arranged rounds of golf at Siam country club

Nice one Kev, not bad looking hotel's for that price.when i was in Pattaya, i stayed at the Pattaya Blue Skye hotel on soi 5, very nice hotel, staff nice, very clean rooms, nice bed, room safe, own kettle, guest friendly, and nice little pool on the roof, it was about 1, 000 baht per night, truly well worth it, only about two hundred metres to the beach, this hotel gets very good ratings on the hotel booking sites.soi 5 quiet but only a street away from the action of soi 6, so good for resting at night, and getting a nice sleep, ohh wait Kev sorry, most of my sleeping during the day haha.no honestly the Pattaya Blue Skye a lovely hotel, big rooms and balcony.cheers Kev keep the vids coming mate.

The DHotel opposite the takeaway you use is excellent. I have stayed in the apartments next to the Paradise view, nice, quiet, old . Problem there is they have ponds and old air con units dumped in the garden around the pool. The ponds attract flies in their hundreds, so you can never relax around the pool as you are always swatting flies off yourself.

My place is right there it's the two big and new towers behind you (The Base by Sansiri). Entrance is second road but I have a corner unit 23 floors up and my back bedroom looks down on LK Metro. It has an amazing rooftop pool with spectacular views of Pattaya 31 floors up. I've just got back to England and not back until 1st March but you're welcome come over and take a look. 😄

Good video Kev, maybe a video idea or just if your looking for a pizza and a beer on the beach. When I lived in Pattaya I used to visit Drifters cafe in Na Jomtien its a cool place. Always good to find quiet places away from the madness cheers. Keep the videos coming.

Great vlog Kev. I stay at Charlie Place. Next to Subway you had in your video. No pool but 700 Baht, a/c, great staff and I'm right next to LK Metro as you say. I'm heading back in 6 weeks so I might just check out Opey De Place for a change. Thanks for sharing Kev!
