The opening night of the art exhibition was incredible!
So much love made the night a huge success!
I have to thank so many people for their part in pulling this off because this was very much a collaboration between so many special people.
First off the artists who's paintings were the main attraction.
You cannot imagine the effect this exhibition has had on them!
They all attended the event and talked with the visitors about their paintings and their current situation.
Promoting understanding and empathy.
For this night they were not the helpless victims of war and persecution, living in squalor and looked upon with at best pity and at worst disgust!
On this night they felt an emotion that they never thought they would feel again, they felt pride and self esteem
For this night they were not refugees they were artists, with a voice, a message and a story to tell.
They were viewed by the visitors as talented people.
They were people! just for a little while.....
The photos are by a dear friend, Nikolas Georgiou who came all the way from Athens jut to attend( many more to follow) ❤️
The food was by Home for All but it was so much more than just food. Katerina Nikos are incredible people and work so hard to ensure that people are well fed and looked after but more than that they provide a taste of home for so many, we love you all x
Connect by music provided the nights entertainment with some amazing musicians and teachers, their project unites. The language of music crosses borders and boundaries.
For planning the whole event from it conception we have to thank an incredible lady and an artist herself Anthula Vambourelli. We have only known you a few weeks but you are a breath of fresh air and we welcome you to the hope project family x
And last but not least, Radwan Fashtol, who is here with Health-Point Foundation Dental/Medical Relief and really stepped in to take over the organisation of the whole thin, while leaving me free to stress. Thank you so much x
Remember if you missed the event you can still see the art and meet the artist, the exhibition will be open from Monday until Wednesday every day until 2pm
