House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy defended the wording of the RNC’s censure resolution of Reps. Cheney and Kinzinger. It comes as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell criticized the censure and broke with the RNC’s language on the Jan. 6th riot, calling it a “violent insurrection.” Former Senator Al Franken and Mark McKinnon weigh in.

Kowtowing to a crook no matter how many times he proves to you that he's a crook makes you a spineless wimp. Not a patriot.

Mitch knows the truth is coming out that's the only reason he all of a sudden is defending Liz Cheney & Adam kinzinger.

This is how Mitch survives every term. He knows how to break away at the right moment.

America is not a dictatorship! So true Americans people that love and respect the Constitution should be putting Trump and his clown car co-conspirators in prison! How is this a question

Very suspicious to hear McCONnel speak like this. I bet something is about to upset the GOP boat and he is in the know

Senator Al Franken, why don’t you rerun for your senate chair again?!

I always feel a pang of sadness when I see Franken. Pushed out of the Senate because of an off-color prank in the 1990's (in the 1990's pranks were actually ok). Franken should still be a Senator.

Elise sure wants to keep Liz as far away from the position she stole from her as she can get!!! RNC can't silence Liz or Adam, the more they try to punish them, the harder they will speak up and speak out!!!

"Legitimate political discourse" are lawyer words. I'm disgusted with my profession.

To Mitch this would have all stopped if you hadn't let a dictator wannabe off from two impeachments. You were more worried about having power than you were worried about the country.

I will simply vote AGAINST each and every single candidate that has NOT openly denounced the Trump movement. That said, I will vote FOR any person who has the GREATEST CHANCE of defeating that candidate. This is an all out battle at the ballot box for our country in its existential threat from autocratic rule by insane people with zero heart and soul. I recommend you do the same.

Franken is still a great comedian. "Keep doing this, RNC, great move to call violence and destruction legitimate political discourse."

Everybody knows it's a train wreck for the RNC, but the RNC. It was the dumbest move they could have ever made. They were wrong to censure Cheney. They are especially wrong for censuring Cheney and Kinzinger. That was a hugely dumb move.

Edit: I should have said, "bigly." It was a bigly, dumb move! There, I fixed it. 😊
