As if there's not enough roadworks and diversions around already to cope with, did the driver manage alright? Found this on North Tyneside Council site:

WHITLEY BAY: Park Avenue from the junction with Whitley Road and Park Road to the junction with Marine Avenue, with an alternate route via Park View, Marine Avenue and in reverse order. The temporary Order is required for the full resurfacing of the carriageway and will come into force on the 5 June 2022 for a period not exceeding 7 days. Works to be carried out between 6:00pm – 11:59pm to minimise disruption. B1316 (BiILLY MILL), temporary speed restriction of 20mph from a point approximately 50m from the Roundabout (Junction with Rake Lane, A191 New York By-pass and Brookland Terrace). Temporary order required in order to carry out carriageway amendments and will come into force on 6 June 2022 for a period not exceeding 12 weeks.
