As much as it has been a privilege watching ronaldo and messi dominate for the past 20 years, this is such a better list. Variety, rewarding excellence in all senses as opposed to just looking at numbers. Yeah some of these are robberies, where messi/Cr7 deserved it more than what AI said, but this list much better encapsulates Football over the last 15 years

Finally someone said Neuer should've won 2014 not Ronaldo or Messi. 2014 Neuer was literally the closest you'll ever see to perfection in his position.
He won the double with Bayern and reached the UCL semi final, but also legitimately carried Germany in the WC at times.
Ronaldos UCL run was great without a doubt but crashing out against the US and Ghana in the group stage of a WC isn't Ballon d'Or worthy, and Messi in no metric was on the level of either of them in 2014.

Tbh the Messi hatred is so forced. Even the legends claim he would have won but a certain group of people try to find happiness by based on insta reels and ai's data.
