How To Remove A Mustard, Yellow Curry, and Turmeric Stain | A Dry-cleaner's Stain Removal Guide
Показать описание
This is a 4th generation dry cleaner's guide to removing a mustard/yellow curry stain!
A turmeric/mustard/yellow curry stain is known as an oxidizable / bleachable stain. Grass stains require enzymes to break down the proteins and bleach, usually oxygen bleach, to correct the color. There are 4 main types of stains: greasy, oxidizable, particulate, and enzymatic.
1) Rinse and brush any physical bits of the stain away with cool or warm water.
2) Prepare a basis/bucket/sink/tub with hot water (ideally 120-140 F or 50-60 C) and add 1/8-1/4 cup of powdered oxygen bleach (sodium percarbonate*, think OxiClean and Vanish). Let this sit for at least 8 hours if possible, overnight is ideal. OR spray the stain with 3% hydrogen peroxide and allow to air dry.
3) Treat the stain with a stain remover or a high quality laundry detergent. Lightly brush in the stain remover and wait at least 1 hour before washing.
4) Wash as recommended by the care label.
5) Inspect the stain, if it still remains repeat step 2. It may take a few more tries depending on the severity.
5) Dry as recommended by the care label.
The sooner you get to the stain the easier it will be to remove.
