China Says U.S. Should ‘Reflect on Itself,’ Alleging American Balloons in Its Airspace

China on Monday said more than 10 U.S. high-altitude balloons have flown in its airspace during the past year without its permission, following Washington’s accusation that Beijing operates a fleet of surveillance balloons around the world.

If this is true.. then why is this the first time China has mentioned it? Also aren’t these “civilian” balloons? Why is China upset with us for shooting them down in our airspace?

The U.S. DID reflect - for several days, and then shot down the balloons. If another country wants weather details for a particular counntry (as they claim, they were weather balloons), they can contact the appropriate folks in charge of monitoring weather for that country. 🤔
