CAN YOU EMPTY YOUR REVEL'S GREY TANK WITHOUT A SEWER HOSE?

Last week we showed you how we empty our cassette tank in different situations. We mentioned that we don't carry a sewer hose with us in our Revel as we're traveling and many asked how we empty the grey tank without one. In this Tuesday Tip we show you.

Here's the part you will need:

Owen, I enjoy the videos. Keep them coming. I have one thing that I feel I must mention here. I do the same thing for grey tank draining when I need to. And, I realize you are just re-using an old hose. HOWEVER, I strongly suggest that you never, ever, use a white or blue potable hose for draining tanks. If one were to ever mix them up and use the wrong hose, one would find themselves extremely sick. I personally carry a grey hose for grey tank disposal purposes. It makes it pretty clear what it is for.

We use disposable rubber gloves before, during, and after emptying our tanks at all. A previous Class B motorhome had a hose attachment on the lid as yours does. Since it carried only a grey tank and 10 gallons of freshwater, it was a breeze to clean. However with age and extra demands from our bodies, we really appreciate the convenience that our 2018 Travato offers. Great vlog Owen, Lynn and Maggie as usual! Thanks!

We are beginning to like the cassette toilet. Your grey water drain was so simple using your technique and that adapter cap.
Love you very interesting videos.
Happy Tails.

Thank you fir this video and tip on cleaning your grey tank. It seems easy enough. Glad you did this video because I didn’t know how to clean grey tanks in Revels. See you both soon! Safe travels!

Helpful tips and a bit of humor, too! Great way to teach. Bye bye from NW Florida where it was cold and rainy today. Not exactly great weather but better weather coming tomorrow. Then another round of cold. But that’s life along the Gulf Coast in January! 😉

Lynn & Owen. Thanks for all the Revel tips in the past 14-15 months since I've been watching.  I adopted your bungee curtain idea. Then I placed an S hook from a black bungee cord under the shelf to create a u or v shaped area behind the rotated chairs. Works great.
Other tip video suggestions follow.
-How did you made your small garage platform?
-The shelving and storage arrangement in your Sherpa box.
-How do you pour your def to avoid spills? And how often?
-Where did you get your new mattress?
-Do you secure the bed with that safety seatbelt latch?  If so, where did you get the extension?

Thank you! DaveH. Ft Kent, Maine

PS. I don't write often because I watch on a smart tv and don't know how to add comments there.

We also have and adaptor to attach the hose to where it enters the hole in the ground. Handy when you are at a place with full hookups. Seals up the dump hole. Does that make sense? 😜

We did a similar thing on our old trailer as we had a composting head, so had no black tank. On the new trailer we still have the typical RV head.

Totally unrelated to the subject of draining tanks, I caught a brief glimpse of some "flip-down" steps that you have mounted on your Owl Sherpa panel. I think I saw at least 2-3 steps which I assume you use to access that side of the roof. What are those steps and how do they attach to the panel? I'm trying to find something to allow me access to my fly rod holders at the rear of my van (above the door). I have an Owl side ladder, but the fly rod holders load straight from the rear. Thanks!

Great idea about closing the white hose to itself. And I would wear disposable gloves.

So you feel that it’s a safe place to put a small propane bottle that would be wonderful I have been wondering where the heck I could put it that’s safe
