This seems perfectly reasonable. The father just wants to ensure that the value of the home that she was brought into is protected and only given to his son, anything she contributed WITH him gets separated equally, i.e their contributions. Families look out for their own first and foremost.

Get the prenup, if he/she objects and takes offence she isn’t for you. Simple. Mention it early in any relationship anyway, too many losing their livelihoods over something that can be avoided.

As my attorney told me (she’s great). You never see a fighter step into the ring without a contract. It is best to have the discussion of expectations in writing early in the relationship. She brings her attorney, you bring me. If we can’t agree on expectations and talk when everyone is in a good mood, You absolutely don’t want to try negotiating with no prenup if there are irreconcilable differences once your married.

Woman won’t sign prenup = Absolutely DON’T marry her. Pay no mind to the tears, the “You don’t trust me” “You made me feel…” and all the guilt trip nonsense. It’s all just a manipulation to disarm you to get what she wants. Don’t fall for it fellas. If she has no plans of ever leaving you, she’ll sign it without hesitation. If she hesitates in signing it, call everything off immediately. Glad I never went through this and had a happy marriage until my wife passed away. But I know guys who have and were royally screwed over by their ex spouse. My late wife put me on to the MANY deceptive tactics of females. Unfortunately nowadays half of marriages fail and 70-80% of divorces are filed by the WOMAN! Guys, u are already set up to get screwed over without a prenup. You worked for that house, car, that pension, that 401K etc.. You earned it, they are NOT entitled to it. Protect yourself. 🙂

A prenup should be signed one full year before the wedding. Have the signing video taped to prove it was not signed under duress.
Have her lawyer explain the prenup to her before she signs.
DO NOT allow her lawyer to alter the prenup in any way.
