So far, the low tech low budget aquarium has been a joy. There are a few things that need rectifying though to ensure that everything stays good with the tank.

Hey MD! i love your ecosystem aquariums and the idea of them, im not sure if your aware but i wanted to comment just in case you weren’t. When water evaporates it leaves behind all the minerals and what ever else was in the water still in the tank, and the when you top the tank off your concentrating the minerals even more. Over time this can cause problems in your tank so you might want to consider doing a water change every once in a while. I dont want this to come off like i know more than you because i dont most of what i know comes from you but id figured id comment just in case!

I use frozen baby brine shrimp. All the fish like it and it is easy to feed.

BBS is the magic key to unlock the breeding part of the hobby. I've had EB acara's breed many times. Only been succesful raising fry with bbs.

you should start composting the floaters and make your own compost for starting tanks!

Neon Tetras are indeed one of my favorites! I don't have any tanks (no time to give them the proper care they deserve). My parents had tanks when I was a kid and I always loved those little guys. :)

Hi MD, love your videos, keep it up, and Merry Christmas' :)
Sad to hear the fries are gone in the snail tank and I have a theory after seeing flatworms in your snail tank that you kept your fries
They might have been eaten by those flatworms as the fries this size still spend 50% of their time on the ground and flatworms are famous for eating fries and babies in fish and shrimp, sometimes could even catch adult shrimps when they molt
Flatworm will develop through new plants introduced to the tank or when setting up a new tank with plants that carry their eggs I believe, sometimes a rich nutrient environment will develop naturally but less chance
Hope these will help you a bit ;)

It's been a lot of fun MD and I think it best to try things and learn as you show us in so many of your videos. Happy Holidays to you and your family. Stay safe and keep making great content.
