Labor Grilled Over Family Law Changes

This week, the Senate is debating Labor's proposed changes to Family Law legislation.

We have reached the 'committee stage' where you can ask questions of the Government regarding their legislation.

I'd love to hear your feedback and receive some questions you would like to be asked.

In case you were wondering, because the explanation of the legislation Labor has proposed makes reference to Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), I tried to drill down on Labor's understanding of how this is defined.

As I have already stated, I cannot support what Labor is proposing. I have a number of amendments to this Bill that I will try to pass to protect the rights of children and families. I will continue to hold this government accountable and force them to answer the tough questions.

I am a broken father. I was maltreated by the Family Law Courts. I now know that the Family Law Court is a legalised cartel licensed to hold children as hostages for ransom, and extort desperate parents and force them to sacrifice their life savings to make the legal fraternity wealthy. Lawyers earn up to $20, 000 a day. You are forced to endure endless rounds of conflict based on unsubstantiated allegations, or lose your child from your life. Meanwhile evidence and facts are ignored when they don't align with the predetermined narrative and goals of the Family Law Court; the conflict MUST go on! They dont care about anybodys well being, especially the child's! All they care about is making the legal fraternity wealthy, and Lording it over desperate people. The system is incompetent, harmful, and broken. It is breaking people and destroying lives...ESPECIALLY the children who come into contact with this toxic incompetent system.
