NASA InSight landing on Mars explained

NASA’s InSight mission is scheduled to land on Elysium Planitia, Mars, on 26 November 2018, at around 19:00 UTC (12:00 PST, 15:00 EST). Tom Hoffman, InSight Project Manager, explains the process of entry, descent and landing. InSight, short for Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport, is a NASA Mars lander designed to study Mars’ interior structure.

uhu. yup. One would think that a senior manager at NASA would know that "interstellar space" is not the same thing as "mars orbit"

I really, really, *really* hope he put a bit more attention to detail into the actual probe design!!

I'm disappointed that the speaker didn't mention the MarCO cubesats are nicknamed Wall-e and Eve, and that Eve has been the better behaved of the two on the trip. :)

Mars atmosphere is 100 x thinner than earths. That means that a parachute should be 1 hundred times bigger than it's brother on Earth. Please notify NASA... the Rockets too must have 100 X more power to break than those we would use on Earth! That means hundred times more fuel!
