is there a way to make the env vars persistent yet secure? I.e. save the credentials somewhere on the machine in a secure way so that i don't have to enter the credentials each time i run the script

I had an idea about making an app that lets two user compare their top tracks that they have listened to, What sort of information about the user's spotify account would be required to access such information?
