Robert Powell as Jesus Christ is the most memorable perfomance of Christ. I'm 63. I was a teen when this movie debuted. I've seen a lot of movies about the Life of Christ. Powell's performance and the entire movie, "Jesus of Nazareth, " are the best depictions. I feel I am right there in the presence of these Biblical characters. Thank you, Robert Powell, for such an epic performance. Thank you, Jesus, for saving us. 🧡🧡🙏🙏

I have loved this movie since it was first broadcast in 1977 here in the UK. I would watch it every Easter and bought it on video when it was first released. Today I have it on dvd. My dad loved it and so do i. I believe that the 4 gospel accounts actually happened and are true. Before I was born Dad had been to holy land and told me all about it. Gran was a Salvation army officer and had a lot of love to give me like dad did.

Robert Powell somehow brought Our Lord’s humanity and divinity together. Jesus looks so resigned at the betrayals that he knows he will suffer. This is so well done and Mr. Powell should have won an Oscar.
