ASMR Teaching You Swedish 🇸🇪😉 (whispered role-play)

Hey gorgeous!

It has been highly requested that I do a video in Swedish. Therefore, I thought it would be fun to do an asmr-video where I'm teaching you Swedish. This video contains useful phrases, fun phrases, expression of love, swear words and some tongue twisters! 16:36 quite useful as in Sweden you don't wear shoes when in someone's home and often not at rented party locals either, so if there's enough of you shoes tend to end up in a big mess.

17:49 In Stockholm they say: Oj! In the rest of Sweden we say "Förlåt!", or "Förlåt mig!" (Oj = Opsie, Förlåt = I'm sorry, Förlåt mig = Forgive me.)

24:16 Another Stockholm sin, yes that's her mixing English and Swedish, very prominent in Stockholm. The Swedish word is "Skit", and means the same thing, but stockholmers can't pronounce the che-sound.
( 26:02 here you have the skit, though actually properly pronounced) And yes we do use shit as a means to emphasize something, it doesn't mean where's it's good or bad, the word after that determines that. Much like the f-word in English. So the phrase would be "Hon/han är skitsnygg!", or "Han/hon är djävulskt snygg." Though I suspect that the word "läcker" would more likely be used in the case of describing a man, or "stilig". (Stilig = handsome, and even in English that's not a word often used about women.)
As for such words as to emphasize, there are a few funny and actually common combinations, such as "Skitgod" (Shit-tasty, which actually means it's very good.), or "Jätteliten" (Giant-small, which really means teeny-tiny.)

Oh, and for those wondering about the swearing; "Helvetes djävlar skit" (Literal translation: Hells devils shit.) And "Fan" = The Devil. So if you want to be more grammatically correct in your swearing it be "Fans helvetes djävla skit" (The Devil's hell's demonic shit)

My mother tongue is german, so its kind of a benefit bc i understand most of the things in swedish

I think it's very interesting how similar swedish and german (my mother tongue) can be. But then again you see how the languages seperated at one point and evolved very differently.
For example the word "Klocka" is very similar to the german "Glocke". The english word "clock" derives from the germanic term for bell (probably because bells (in church towers etc. were one way to measure the time of the day). So in swedish the word bell is Klocka and in german Glocke.
But in germany the sentence "how is the bell?/Wie ist die Glocke?" would make absolutely no sense since germans use the word "Uhr" for clock.
Just noticed that... and how the evolution of language is sometimes very tricky :p

Otherwise you find a lot of similar words in swedish that you could understand as a german (with a little bit of stretching and thinking) and the other way around.
Somehow nice to still hear out our common roots.

"Heter" does not mean name. Name is a substantive while heter is a verb for name adressing. The english language are one few to lack a verb for name adressing.
You can still say "My name is.." in Swedish as "Mitt namn är..." where name = namn.

I am an ojibwe native Canadian and I am obsessed with Sweden. I love Sweden and the beautiful language. I hope to visit Linköping and Stockholm someday. I don't know my mother tongue. I'm told it is very difficult and I understand more Swedish.

10:58 This is actually wrong, I am swedish my self and the correct way would be to say "var" and not "vart" because if you can answer the question with "hit, dit" then its "vart" and if you can answer the question with "här, där" then its "var" and in this case you can only answer it with "här, där" and not "hit, dit" which proves that the correct answer would technically be "VAR är du ifrån" and im not hating on you for not knowing this, it is a very common mistake that almost all swedes make. :)
