Thanks for demonstrating this cool lightsaber! I designed a split saber very similar to this a couple years ago inspired by Rapier&Dagger, and I *still* didn't see that dastardly sneak attack coming!
Great design from a show that took a ton of creative risks and didn't rely on recognizable names or cameos, and even brought a whole new era to the screen with some fantastic new characters.

Imo Qimir was the best part of the Acolyte - he was a dangerous and tricky son of a gun - but his reliance on special equipment and tactics that the Sith considered cheap is probably the reason Plagueis sought an upgrade.

Fun fact, the shorter lightsaber in a dual-wielding setup is referred to as a shoto. This is a tactical blade, often used by Jedi and Sith alike, for defensive maneuvers. In a Jar'Kai stance (dual lightsaber combat), the shoto acts primarily as a parrying weapon, intercepting incoming strikes and creating openings. The wielder can then leverage their main, longer lightsaber to deliver a decisive counter-attack. The shoto's reduced length allows for rapid deflections in close quarters, enhancing a duelist’s defensive capability while maintaining offensive pressure.

I love it when we get a saber that actually compliments the fighting style of its user. Just like with Maul and Dooku for example.

Qimir's approach to combat is sneaky. His erratic style makes him unpredictable, he gets in people's minds trying to disrupt their focus, his Cortosis gear gives him the ability to take out someone's lightsaber at any point and this saber is the finishing touch.

As shown in the video, it looks like a normal lightsaber until it isn't. Which makes it the perfect tool for someone who prefers sneak attacks.

One thing I feel is a bit understated is how well this weapon & the Stranger's fighting style mixes with the fact he also wears a Cortosis mask & bracer.

One of the things I genuinely loved about the Acolyte that I hope to see in the future of star wars.
