Oh I wasn't being sarcastic, it was a genuine question and other replies tell me that all media is referred to as 'events' in Vegas so it seems you were right anyway.
I use Premiere Pro CS6 myself, so I'm not familiar with Vegas terminology.

Thanks for the video. I've been using Vegas since v4 (must be over 10 years) and have never broached the subject of scripts; they always looked too hard.

But now I know how useful they are I'll be using them a lot in the future.

Vegas Pro after using Premiere? That's like using Windows Movie Maker after Final Cut, or Gimp after Photoshop.

if I put them into the vegas 17.0 folder , and i open Sony Vegas: i get an error saying: message missing when carrying out the script

Thanks for the suggestion. Haven't tried that but unfortunately when you have a lot of raw material rendering would take forever on my dual core laptop. Think I'll have to stick with it. The problem is common apparently with some Mov H264 720 files and Adobe.

I know that you work with Vegas, but is there any chance that you can get your hands on Avid studio? I would like to know if I can get free add ons from the internet.

The Selection script looks nice, but I like the Auto Ripple function for that, because it also moves Regions and Markers. Note that I did change the hotkey for Auto Ripple to Shift + F for easier use :)

I changed many keys from Vegas default setting: I dislike double press of button + I need not to get mad when jumping form (and to) other applications when I HAVE TO. So My keyboard moves clips (auto ripple all) with H, edit tool is V, selection is A. The rest is pretty much untouched but I fly whith only one key very fast and going to Finalcut or Premiere is less painful. Scripts are a strongpoint for Vegas... have to study them... Thank you.

Thanks, please do you have a tip how to do "automatic cutting" (create subclip) when some area in the video (e.g. the circle in left-bottom corner) changes its color? :) For example I will record the traffic lights for 4 hours and want Sony Vegas to automatically create subclip in the video everytime the red light blinks.. Is it possible?

I had to do it. :( For some reason the Adobe products, Elements and Pro, put the audio out of synch when editing the 720 output from my new Samsung video camera. I googled and it's a well known bug with Adobe. I can't say I like Vegas Pro.
