How to find a broken cable fault point

This video shows how to find the broken point of a broken cable.
You will need AC Voltage Detector and 220V bulb.
This method cannot apply to shielded cable and more than 7 wires cable.

Q: I see to test for a broken line i need to create a short curcuit. And i do this by connecting the bare ends of both the positive and neutral of my cord . So my question is, does that include connecting the ground Where all 3 lines are connected to each other ? Thanking you in advance for your time and assistance.

I can say that you have connected all 3 wires together and now you completely don't know which wire is actually broken L or N .
I would rather recommend check each wire seperately starting from L (Brown) wire and then N ( Neutral)
Btw. Bulb is useless in this case.

There is a safer way. With multimeter in Continuity mode that has a buzzer.
