There’s a Tesla superchargers on almost every block in the United States. Using that secondary slower and less reliable charging Netwerk is unnecessary for Tesla owners

Model 3 and Y in Europe have CCS per default

I gave up trying to use non-Tesla chargers. Tesla is just in a league of their own - its not even close.

Lol, as a European Model 3 owner, mine has a CCS Connexion by default!

Superchargers are different costs depending on locations. Saying you found a CCS charger that was cheaper means NOTHING.

In Australia we just all have the same outlet...

Most CCS chargers don't work. My experience between Columbia SC and Atlanta GA.

In Europe CCS is the standard plug of a Tesla.

Note that not all Tesla vehicles are compatible. I'm not sure if all Model 3 and Y are compatible but go to the software page of the setting app. It should say that CCS is enabled if it is. If there is no mention of CCS, your Tesla probably doesn't have CCS compatibility yet.

As for getting an adapter, Tesla doesn't officially sell them in North America yet (I know they do sell it in South Korea because that's where they started selling them). You will have to look for the CSS Type 1 to Tesla adapter on a third-party site (no, Amazon doesn't have one (that isn't sketchy)).

Legacy Model S and X in Type 2 regions cannot use the CCS supercharger plugs even with an adapter for the CCS to Menekes charger. However I beleve in Europe Tesla does sell a CSS Type 2 to Menekes adapter for public Level 3 chargers. Also in areas where the non-Tesla supercharging pilot is active, you have to use the CCS plug because otherwise the Menekes charger will not work.

Yep, if you are lucky and the charger is actually working, and if it is, even more luck for it to communicate correctly with the Tesla system. And then... you have to pay on the spot manually? Soooo old school. Tesla superchargers don't need payments, they recognize your vehicle, your account, and charge to your car automatically.
This is why you see a line of Tesla vehicles waiting for superchargers to be available right next to a handful of CCS fully available. No Tesla owner ever dare to charge on those. Yes this is how we Tesla family members are. And why we hate that Tesla announced they will start allowing other EVs to use our superchargers. Get a Tesla instead.

It pisses off CCS-1 owners who don't have a SuperCharger adapter ... and have to wait on the Tesla.

Not just CCS adapter, but also some personality to go with it.

While I agree with you that they are useful, those chargers cost what $300, maybe $400. So you're going to need to charge roughly 50 to 60 times to pay itself off, those Chargers don't show up in the car so I would have to already know they exist or use an app, and I have no idea if they actually work.

Unless I absolutely needed them I don't think I would ever see myself buying these unless they cost less than $200. Although I don't supercharge that often, last time was in June. So if you supercharge a lot then I guess that makes sense

Sorry, there are NOT half as many CCS chargers as there are Superchargers.

So you save $4 per tank more than me and I can go 400 miles in my Kia. 🤔

I'll think about it when the reliability is much, much better. Meanwhile, the Tesla supercharger network is awesome.
