There are three essential things in life, three things that we all have and we must embrace them. Time, what we do with our time. Energy, where we are focusing our time. Attention, where we put our focus.

Once you start to reach the point where outside things no longer control your emotions and you are able to choose how you want to react to each situation, people will see you as a sociopath.

A Stoic knows that control over one’s own body and mind is essential to living in harmony. We cannot control others, but we can set firm boundaries about what we allow into our personal space. Respect for yourself starts with valuing your autonomy—others may test those limits, but it’s our responsibility to calmly and confidently guard what is ours. Letting someone touch you without permission is yielding control. As Epictetus teaches, ‘You are responsible for your own soul, ’ and that includes defending your physical and mental sovereignty.

It’s your decision to be unfuckable with! Just shut them all out. Embrace the loneliness. Because that’s what you will be- lonely! That’s NOT a bad thing. You are your own best friend. You are born alone, & you will die alone. Better learn how to love yourself!

Hey thank you man seriously. I'm in recovery from addiction and have been studying Greek philosophy (amongst other things) but didn't know much about stoic philosophy. This is excellent and practical. Gonna put it in practice. Thank you so much

I really needed to hear this right now. I have such problems with expectations around friends and me feeling that they are being ignorant, or that I am being ignored. It really gets me. Justified or unjustified anger doesn't serve me at all. Sometimes it takes me a while to get to the point of letting go and putting in some effort. When I pick up a pen and start writing about my flaws. It all gets a lot easier....love and blessings ❤ grateful

I discovered "letting go' while living and working in China for many years.
The typical Chinese just lets the "offended" party in a confrontation wear his or herself out.
They rarely react in what a Westerner would call an aggressive way.
Our mode of confrontation is hard to kick.

imo, pragmatism is a fourth equal way of thinking, along with the three you propose, to perceive ourselves and the world around us, successfully building a solid foundation upon which to move forward thoughout our lives.

I just wrote an eloquent long thank you comment for this video and the second I finished before I hit send my battery died and I lost it. 😅 So I will summarize.

Thank you for this video because it brings me peace to know that I have many values and I do not have to get them all done at once in order to be fulfilled.

Pleasure seeking for myself is not satisfying to me because I value growth, learning, giving to others, finding solutions, change and other values as more important for me so when every simple pleasure is available to me I feel something is still missing.

This video helped me see that there is a balance of many values and balance is not stagnant.

When I am focused on one, another will be calling for my attention. So I see that it is OK and that I am allowed to give my attention to whatever seems to be most compelling in the moment and my other values will patiently wait their turn and I can feel peace in the midst of it all.

So, Thank you! ❤
