My biggest gripes for the sienna

1. The 2nd row seats no longer come out of the vehicle
2. Cargo space has shrunk a bit. The last gen sienna had 39 cu ft behind the third row, 88 behind second row, and 150 behind first row with 2nd row seats removed.

In the past, I have owned 2 different generations of the Prius, a Camry hybrid, and an Avalon hybrid. All had plenty of pickup. I’ll have to wait for a review by Consumer Reports about whether or not the new 2021 Sienna power plant is able to generate enough get up and go.
However, I can’t conceive Toyota not addressing this issue in advance of production. My bet is they did and, therefore, meet nearly every owners needs.

This is the minivan of the future. Safe, sophisticate, efficient, highly reliable, lower cost of maintenance, quality, excellent sales and after sales support of the elite Dealer Network and spare parts logistic system that is second to none.
Toyota Dealer Network is brilliantly superior to the rest of the industry.

The body is not as smooth as the 2001 model. Never did like adding the gear shifter between the seats. I much prefer having it near the steering wheel. After all, this is not a stick shift! And without the gear shifter between the seat allows movement inside the van without getting out of the van. Think stuck in snow, hail, or lightning. How much can it tow? Towing power is very important to me.

Will we see the sienna prime PHEV in 2021?

Was going to switch from a Honda but now that they only have a hybrid option it’s not happening.

I watched a video saying that the middle seats in the 2021 Sienna are not removable. I hope this is not true. I love my 2015 Sienna for camping and hauling. This would definitely limit that. Keep the vacuum cleaner and give me my full 8 foot bed.

I am leaning towards this Sienna. I think it will be my family car this year. You will never go wrong with Toyota.

Toyota messed up by placing the rear wiper on the rear window. In my 2011 it’s located under the rear spoiler, protecting it from winter snow and ice. HUGE disappointed for this winter driver. I also understand that AWD is not available if you want the rear leg rests. If this is so ... another disappointment. I’ll have to see one in person to decide if I’ll upgrade this year. I might wait till 2022 to see if they make other improvements.

Obviously the Hybrid is a huge plus for me as my next vehicle will be a Hybrid. Also the Safety Sense features are desirable options as well. It’s just too bad that Toyota can’t get it right in all categories.

The thing not mentioned that is a non-starter for me, is that the 2nd row seats don't stow or remove. That means no camping and no hauling couches (I refinish leather sofas). That is the reason I still have a 2010 model. The friggin seats come out with no trolleys left in.

It's awesome! They brought back Venza too. New Venza looks so great. I can't believe it. Awesome job, Toyota. Thank you for the video!

Obviously I havn't driven this new vehicle. The negative for me is the lack of power when merging or passing, allegedly? All wheel drive and load capacity are my wants which appear in this Sienna.

If it is priced competitive as it should be, I’ll buy one,

You are quite correct: I am one of those who does not have a lot of confidence on the stupid 2.5 liter hybrid engine’s anemic power figures. A minivan should have a powerful engine and the 3.5 V6 was a great balance between power and economy. This new engine is a let down.

Nope, I am NOT buying a four cylinder engine van. I have the 2007 Sienna V6 and it runs like new 13 years later. I was waiting to see if the new 2021 or 2022 Sienna model worth the upgrade but apparently not. I am keeping my old Sienna until the it eventually die of something but right now it still purrs like a kitten at idle and roars like a lion when I floor the gas. Maybe, I'll get me a used 'last version' of Sienna with a V6.

Current major weak point of the Toyota Sienna is the crash test results

There are options for a 1500w inverter, vacum, and refrigerator. That's a lot possible power consumption. Do these accessories run off the main hybrid battery, or off a separate engine or house battery? The fridge can be used as a refrigerator or freezer. How my cubic inches of storage does it have? It looks quite small.
