Sad fact, He intentionally had the children poisoned first so that the parents wouldn't have the will to keep on living.

The event that led to the saying, "Don't drink the Kool-aid!". Rest in peace to all of the unfortunate people who were coerced into this by that inhuman creature and grifter, Jim Jones.

This is a very tragic story, but people have refused to learn, as they still worship their so called pastors today. Especially in Nigeria

Jim Jones always makes me angry for two reasons: 1.) he took advantage of his followers, abusing them physically, emotionally, and even sexually, and 2.) he intentionally killed children—babies— in the Jonestown massacre in one of the worst ways possible.

There were a few kids that ran into the forest shortly after the politician was shot, they got very sick but survived

As a Guyanese, this was awful to learn about. The strangeest part was that after what happened, our folks called any tourist that had white skin "Jim Jones". And then the tourists would tell them to "come and taste my Kool-aid".

After the massacre, a MILITARY OFFICER went into tv and made a JOKE about this awful thing. It was a press conference and everyone in the room laughed. Also, reporters talking to the survivors asked them “Why didn’t you go back to save the others?” Like WHATT??!

Jones financially, mentally, and physically intimidated people into staying with his church.

He manipulated the media saying they were an open church to all races and creeds. At a the time people praised him as it was a tumultuous situation in the US with the race movements and the Vietnam war. If nothing else he was a hell of a marketing guru. Just imagine if he actually put his talents to something good.

This is a example of why God told us to never worship False Idols

People were so starved of spirituality it became easy to fall to this.

I genuinely hope his son has found some peace. His son has gone on record to state how bad it really was, since he survived it all.

I remember hearing about this at church when I was a kid. It was hard for me to understand how adults could be so blind. It was so shocking to me as a kid. As an adult everytime I make Kool - Aid I can't help but to think of Jonestown.

Even if we call him a virus, that would be an insult to all the viruses in existence!

Thank you for telling the true story of this. There are so many people who talk about his followers as horrible murderers but the fact is is that he forced this to the children and then a lot of them did it because they could not handle their children dying in front of them. And this was after they tried to escape multiple times
