Switching from rec 709 to rec 2020 definitely helped me with an issue I was having regarding color artifacts in the blues, yellows, and reds!! I was using aces to manage color too, and switching to rec 2020 brought on a definite green cast, so i may try a version with the ipp2 curves and yrgb managed since I have to start from scratch balancing out the shots colors again

Saving this video as an overall primer for working with BMPCC 4k and general color correction tutorial.
Looks like the key here is in the Project settings. Thank you for this useful tutorial, Tony.
Makes perfect sense to use the Blackmagic Design Pocket 4k as input color space, I always had it on something else! Duh, lol.
You make me wanna be a better camera operator, man.
Cheers

Very good tutorial. I'm just getting starting color grading my 2nd project / music video with BMPCC 4k, and I recently heard that grading w/out a LUT is better. So been looking around for tuts about this, and this is likely the one I'll follow. Thank you, I subscribed!

Thanks for this, I am new in color correction and since now I learn to use serial nodes to correct sat, contrast and soon - here you are using parallel nodes could you tell us the advantage versus serial node and your recommendations.
Thanks in advance

Ever do any Red and P4k marching? I shoot on both and sometimes mix them in projects. I can get basic matches but nothing I’m crazy about. Would love to see that technique from someone more experienced.

Hey Tony. I really like your method, I think I will start incorporating it in my workflow. Are there any drawbacks when color correcting/grading using your technique. If I'm striving for the best image quality for online content, is this a good method to follow?
Last, how come I haven't seen any other people doing tutorials online applying this method? Do the pros in the industry use the same techniques?
Thanks again!

Also it would be nice to have an eye dropper tool for a raw WB adjustments.

I've learned a lot from this channel - one of my favorites. Tony, are there any channels on YouTube that you learn from? I'd love additional recommendations.

How do you export? The color looks great on my computer but not on other screens...

Regarding the Timeline color space vs Output color space:

I was under the impression that these should be set identically so that you get an accurate preview of how your grades will be output on render. Since you won’t be exporting to rec2020, doesn’t that mean you are just working in a more forgiving space but one that is not giving you an accurate preview for what will be output?

Thank you very much for this tipp! Ive tried it already and its amazing how the colors react in a much better way. I got even better results with the Rec 2020 (Scene) especially with green (if I crank the saturation). Did you`ve tried it with Rec 2020 (Scene) already?

Hi Tony, everything works great but renders are darker than what I see in timeline. Maybe I’m missing something here. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!
