Tekken 8 is the newest contender in Bandai Namco's long running legacy fighter. With almost three decades of history, how can a new entry in the storied franchise make its mark? Good news! Since launch, spectating in Player Match lobbies is now available. There's no menu option for it, it just puts you in a match when one is starting, but you can view helpful things like the chat, frame data, input history, and player profiles. It's a great update.

What a fantastic six months for fighting games with Street Fighter 6, MK 1 and now Tekken 8 firing on all cylinders. Don’t forget Sega has also confirmed that they are working on the next Virtua Fighter as well. Hope Tecmo comes back strong with the Dead or Alive series as well!

I’m really glad they have more single player content again. Even though I’ve been playing since 3, I enjoy the single player content more than the online/competitive content. Tekken 7 was SORELY lacking in this area.

This game is incredibly insane! I'd say this is one of the best opening chapters of any game I've ever seen. The sense of scale, the amazing presentation, the soundtracks.. It all comes together to hype you up for the amazing gameplay.

Seeing Kazuya's journey from being series protagonist to final boss was rad, and a perfect distillation of what makes Tekken's story intriguing. It's all morally grey.

That, and the idea a purple girl and a bear share moves with an electric old man in his honor.
