Got tired of being blindsided by conflicts popping up when i was preoccupied with something else, so i ran tests to see what was the smallest thing i could do that would trigger them.
Whittled it down to simply standing up straight. Thats all it takes.

My mother did this mainly to the scapegoat children for some reason.
She didn't want her children to grow up and leave her. As we started to become teenagers and moved away from her she went and had another baby to have for her sole purpose of never being abandoned.
This baby was adored and given every privilege and when she tried to have autonomy she was strangled by my mother until we came in to save her. My mother had a nervous breakdown when she eventually left her to get married.
She never believed that she was going to get married even though my sister was engaged and bought a house with her then boyfriend.

Yeah, it exactly what I feel. My own initiative is locked down. This is how I became a covert narcissist - the mask of a mommy's boy. No initiative, living for the mommy, doing things teachers demand only and self rejection for the false self. I have to do what adults say and never do what I want. Terrible life.

Everytime, I made money and wanted to leave, my father would always use his position as a father to subdue me to invest in things which were not right and I lost finances and then had to start working again.. have wasted many years like this. Thanks to ppl like you I have started to understand this.

Narcissistic mother, I’m the daughter of that. I’ve got a book of stories🤦‍♀️😤also attract narcissistic men turns out😤😤😤 I’m aware ppl use this word a lot but I’ve had a hell of a lot of therapists tell me this so not from my own mouth🤷‍♀️

Wow!!! I grew up with N mother and in cult and then a N husband. Finally got out of all of it in my early 30’s. Finding my voice and autonomy for the first time in last few years. This is amazing, Thank you!

Yes my narcissist mother had to approve and we had to obey. We were conditioned since birth. She was so strict. When we met a young man and told her that was it, it was engagement followed by marriage 1 year later. The husband turned out to be a narcissist and gave me the silent treatment throughout the marriage of 20 yrs. thank God it ended. Oh we couldn’t divorce either it was looked down upon she told us. I went no contact on all the family narcissists the whole pack and I feel born again.

It has nothing to do with ideologies it is about unhealthy humans in the created bipolarity of capitalism or comunism.
