Mike hasn't been himself since the impulsive thoughts think they unleashed something within him, because him chucking random ingredients at the plate at 13:17 was WILD.

I think this is a win for Jamie. For me a two meal £10 budget challenge is a “there’s a cost of living crisis and we need to make the pennies stretch”, so Mike not utilising the money to bulk out the bangers and mash and creating “food waste” by buying perishable items that he didn’t use is an instant third place.

Out of Barry and Jamie, Jamie had the more substantial meals that would actually fill you up and he was, imo, smarter with his choice of ingredients.

You could have a cook off where instead of money, you could buy with time. Everyone starts with 1 Hr and the everything is priced in minutes.Whatever you buy you subtract that time from 1 Hr and that's the time you have left to cook Since most people are short on time and money, this would take care of people not having too much time. E.g. - You can buy diced onions but they are more expensive but it also saves you time.

I am always surprised that they never take the option of making a soup. Soups are great, you can make them out of almost anything and use up any scraps.

as someone who is struggling a lot for money and food, my winner would be Jamie and runner-up Mike, due to the portion sizes - simply because when I'm in poverty, I'm less worried about getting the best flavor and more worried about just filling up my stomach.

Definitely Jamie for the win - for me Barry didn't do a big enough meal for dinner, just two lunch dishes really. I know I wouldn't be going hungry with Jamie's plates of food. A good-sized burger for lunch (and like Jamie I could easily cope with a whole one) and a large plate of pasta for tea.

I gotta give it to Jaime. Barry made two sandwiches for two meals but Jaime made a decent burger and a good pasta dish. Variety over consistency.
