Jonah takes it to the court. The tennis court. In 1080p.

Trivia:

Original airdate 12/9/85. Possibly earlier in Canada as the series actually the series is listed as 1984 and this is still the first season.

The first of two episodes that have Jonah focused on tennis. This was used again in season 4's Love Game. There were at least two other episodes, however, where Jonah is back on the court (At least implied). Season three's "Sylvan Shores" and season four's "Deep Trouble".

This tennis match sequences were filmed at Stanley Park Tennis Club (Which I believe now has about 14 courts as of 2016. I'm not sure how many courts were there in 1984, which is also where the Vancouver Aquarium is located.

The tennis practice sequences @ 3:30 and @ 9:13 were filmed at Point Grey High School, which ironically, will be shown again in the season four's Love Game, which as mentioned also has Jonah focused on tennis.

This is Roger Alford (The umpire in the tennis match) first of three appearances on Danger Bay. He'd make two more appearances, season two's "Grand Theft Whale" (Mr. Forsythe) and season season five's "Expert Witness" (C.E.O.).

This is Camille Henderson's TV debut. Also, in 1985, she also appeared in the flick, "My American Cousin". These were Camille's only two times in front of a camera. However, she's since gone on to a lengthy career in the music industry. First, joining the pop group West End Girls in the early 1990s, then providing the backup for Sarah Ann McLachlan from 1993 on! AND...Her sister, Saffron Henderson has forged quite an acting career, with over 100 film / tv credits to her name. Saffron made two appearances herself in Danger Bay, playing "Lisa" in season four's "Roots And Wings" and "Leslie Head" in season five's "Shaughnessy Island.

William S. Taylor, who plays Jonah's coach here, returns in season three's "Sylvan Shores", playing Mr. Johnson. As mentioned earlier, that episode ALSO involves tennis. Taylor's last appearance was in season six's "Hijacked" where he plays "Detective Neufeld". Mr. Taylor is credited as just "William Taylor." Like Camille Henderson, he too has had a career in the music industry. Long before that, and after graduating from Florida A&M, he played five seasons in the Canadian Football League for the BC Lions and Hamilton Tiger Cats. AND he also had a boxing career that culminated in being crowned Canadian Heavyweight Champion in 1967 and competing in the Can-Am Games the next year.

(Spoiler)

Jonah goes three sets with Evan, coming up just a little short. The scores are 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Close match.

As with "Timber" there is an extended cut of this episode, with four minutes of missing footage added. There is a scene that takes place after the final freeze-frame here. But really, isn't the last scene here the right way to end it?

Jonah may lose here, but by season four, he's competing for the National Championship.
