Green Party split over HS2 rail line

With a cost in excess of £100bn, HS2 project has divided political opinion.

But now, it's managed to create a split in the Green Party.

This project has steam-rollerred all conservation, wildlife and ecologically educated citizens of this country. How has it been approved without consultations with all interested parties and against a huge sector of the public. This service will serve just a few and destroy so much.

The UK does not need HS2. The pandemic has accelerated the number of people that work from home, this helps to ease overcrowding on the existing transport networks. The UK has already lost too much green space over the years. We should preserve what is left of it.

Why can’t we build new roads ? In ten years the majority of cars will be net zero. Or in the mean time we spend ours lives in congestion and hamstring the economy

Total waste of money unlike Brexit. Like Brexit Is going ahead, HS2 unfortunately will as well.
