2:20 "To get the most bang for the..." (remembers how expensive these things are) "...Get the most performance out of these guys."

For future work with cutting screws and other fasteners, if you put a nut on the screw before you cut it you can use the nut to fix the threads and prevent cross threading.

Hey Paul, if you have wire cutters, then check them for screw dimensions. Most wire cutters are also able to shorten screws/bolts without stripping them. It's also a much quicker process.

When cutting a bolt, put a nut on it first, then cut the bolt, clean the end then unscrew the nut, hey presto a clean thread

3:25 OMG, Paul! No Arctic Panther™ roar! What do you have to say in your defense?

13:49 This is what you get Fractal Josh, when you don't invite Paul on a boat excursion.

"Let's get to building" starts cleaning the case and all the filters

I like Paul's channel. He gets all this cool stuff and yet keeps his humility and gives back to his viewers. Unlike some of his counterparts whose egos have gone through the roof.

This is legitimately one of the coolest builds I have ever seen. I have always loved the idea of having a build that looks monochrome until it turns on and it sort of "comes to life" when the system turns on and some lighting turns on. Its super sexy.

Yes, you NEED a vise. Also you need a 60* file to smooth the cut end of the screw and repair and shape the damaged threads. Also, two nuts of the appropriate size locked together works well in securing the screw in the vise and also for marking where to cut the screw. Also, the nuts will aid in repairing the damaged thread after cutting. Just the act of screwing off the nuts helps in repairing the damaged thread.

The music you have while you are working on the PC is so great in all your videos. Thanks for all the work you put into these you are a huge help, Paul.

I also kept the strix backplate with the ek waterblock for design reasons. I really love the strix design with the brushed finish.

Did a similar thing with my backplate this time last year when water cooling my EVGA 980 Ti. I prioritised the block screws then just screwed the backplate where I could and ended up looking fine. I think most backplates are cooler than the EK ones anyway

If you go to Ace hardware they should have all the screws you are looking for in different lengths and size, or Fastenal will have basically every hardware on the planet to order.

Threadripper counterpart build name idea:
-Antarctic Panther
-Panther Hunter
-Pantripper (lol)
-Tropic Thunder
-Desert Puma
-Arctic Bear
-Polar Bear
-Jumping Jaguar

idk. Maybe do a series of polls for fan voting of a name?

Depending on the diameter and material of the screws, a nice wire cutter works very well for cutting screws. I've had to do that when building electronics at work.

Looks good so far and keeping the RGB back plate to keep that feature is a lot better than the plain back plate. Yeah it not flush but still a great build so far can't wait for pt 2 video.

I just mashed that LIKE button for your in-video boot test!!!!

Harbour frieght die set, and a good pair of flush cuts. You'll need to chase the threads when you cut the screws. Should be fairly easy to do with any decent die set
