Many have heard of Picasso’s “Guernica” and many may even recognize it, but fewer have know about its history. A city in the mountains of Pais Vasco, a region in Spain with its own ethnicity, culture, and language which I believe has no connections with any living languages. This town was meant to be ethnically cleansed by Franco, using Hitler’s Luftwaffe. Seeing this video was beautiful and heartbreaking. The town really shouldn’t be there after Hitlers bombs, and to see these folks stand in solidarity with another oppressed group who is facing genocide, instead of silence as many others, is amazing. Yet, it saddens me to know there is much more work for us to do to make sure no more Palestinians are murdered, and to ensure they can return to their homes safely. We stand with Palestine 🇵🇸. History won’t forget.
