Excluding accidents, we MANUFACTURE neck pain!

Our bodies were not designed to be looking down for 1000s of hours through the years. But just as we’ve manufactured it, we can also begin to restore it

It’s as simple as smartphones atrophy the muscles that push our head back into proper posture, and isometric neck bridges help build deep neck muscles back up

This is for the general population, and not athletes - athletes need 5x this neck strength in order to be fully protected. I believe everyone should have at least at a baseline of ability of a neck bridge for 10 second reps. This exercise is safe when performed on a bench, or on a wall at your own pain free level

3 sets, 3 reps, 10 seconds a rep
1-2 a week is all it takes

One of the only supersets that can help reduce concussion and car accident risk

So you are basically the new Knees over toes guy? I got a story about that..

When I left the military my knees were pretty up. The worse end of "pretty."
Going from 9/10 pain tying my shoes and walking upstairs to being able to squat ATG and jump from truck beds onto hard ground with zero pain was incredible for me, so I was sold. I contacted Ben Patrick thru social media and he responded and we talked and I was convinced.
You've taught me even more through your youtube shorts.
Thank you, seriously. I'm also a personal trainer on the side and I know.. The reality is, 99% of people will scroll past this and think it's a waste of their time, and then complain about their back, sciatica, hips, knees, ankles, ect... My body feels DAMN GOOD. I'm almost 30 and I'm more flexible, stronger, and more "complete" than I've been in my entire life, and it's thanks to people like you and Ben Patrick. Thank you. Please keep doing these videos, I don't think you are aware of the help they bring to humans.

If your neck is really messed up including the ligaments, this exercise could give you life altering complications. Watch out and dont jump into these exercises without proper evaluation of the issue

Thanks for this man! Been doing these for years to help my patients. This coupled with wall scapular lifts helps a lot.

distance runners i bet would really benefit from this. Head is heavy and the neck is usually weak and the head is the furthest thing from the feet. If can pull ur head back and over ur hips then less likely to end up with shin splints i bet as head forward means calves have to work more.

You’re literally working the muscles of the back of the neck, which are already involved isometrically when watching one’s phone. You should work the front of the neck to compensate…
