What’s the Best Password Manager in 2022?

❤️ The best password manager is the password manager you'll use (within reason, of course).

❤️ The best password manager for you
There are several good password management alternatives available today. I happen to use and recommend LastPass, but tools like BitWarden, 1Password, KeePass, Dashlane, and RoboForm are all worthy alternatives. Which is “best” becomes a matter of personal preference based on the platforms supported, ease of use, and cost. More important than which you pick is that you pick and use a password manager to enable the highest level of security with strong, unique passwords you don’t need to try to remember yourself.

Great, clear, helpful and specific information, Leo. Love what you do and how you do it. This is the sort of information that should be taught in schools, and particularly, in all retirement training programs. The young and the old are likely to be the most naive and vulnerable to not appreciating the complexities and vulnerabilities of online safety. Looking forward to the next volume of wisdom...

In early 2019, I tried roboform.
I chose the option to not sync to their servers.

Their software kept reminding me that sync was off.
The best I could do was set the reminder for the largest delay window that their software allowed: 30 days.

In March of 2019, I opened a ticket with roboform, asking them if there is a way to turn off sync reminders, and if not, will they implement such an option.
They replied that 30 days is the limit, and that they will not be offering a way to stop sync reminders.

Did they ever "fix" that issue?
I do not know. Because upon their reply, I uninstalled roboform.

I do not need my software to nag me over a setting that I deliberately set.

And the fact that roboform was determined to get me to upload my passwords to their server was troubling. Were they trying to look out for me? Or do they have a master key?
Who knows? And I do not care. Why bother to care, when there are alternatives where I do not need to deal with that concern?

Nothing compares to 1Password, in my opinion. In terms of just everything really. Feel/look, features, security etc. All the other apps are still in 1990, especially Bitwarden and all the others. I don’t mind to pay/subscribe or if it’s open-source or not, as long as they provide a really really good service/product.
Another option I could/can use is pass, in the terminal.

I use LastPass and have switched and tried others including bitwarden, but the one thing that keeps me coming back to Lastpass is their ability to PRINT off passwords. I like to store a copy of my printed passwords in a safety deposit box. Roboform lets you print off your passwords to but the print-off (at least a while ago) was ugly as sin. The rest just don't have the functionality, unless you export to CSV and print that. The print-off Lastpass does is beautil.
