In this video I show you how to use epidemic sound the right way. Once you sign up for free, following these 5 tips and tricks will help you make the most of your epidemic sound experience by increasing your productivity and editing efficiency.

Step 1: Link your social media accounts
One you have your epidemic sound account, you need to link your social media accounts to avoid copyright claims. I walk you through this process.

Tip 2: Ignore the core browse feature. Epidemic sound's core music and sound effect browse features are really convoluted and confusing in my opinion. Instead of searching for music with these, I encourage new users to explore the library inside epidemic's themes page.

Tip 3: MP3 vs WAV
youtubers and internet content creators are best served by MP3's smaller, compressed file sizes, while professional productions should use WAV's higher quality codec. If you're creating looping content or looping the song in your edit for youtube, use WAV to avoid deadspace in the audio track.

Tip 4: Use the built in volume slider.
By using Epidemic's built in volume slider and running the website in the background, you can try out new songs for your videos without ever downloading them.

Tip 5: Use the App.
Epidemic sound has a companion app for ios and android. Use this feature to curate music playlists when you're away from your computer, or download songs directly to your smartphone and tablet if you're a mobile creator.

The only issue with the app is, there is no option to find “similar songs”. An option that the website offers when you hear a song you like and want similar ones. Another issue is the app is glitchy.
