Edward Snowden gains support from protesters in Hong Kong

Hundreds in Hong Kong take to the streets in support of former National Security Agency contractor turned whistleblower, Edward Snowden, on Saturday. Demonstrators attended the rally in support of freedom of speech after revelations by Snowden that the US had allegedly hacked into Hong Kong's networks. Snowden has taken refuge in Hong Kong in the hope he will not be extradited back to the US.

The freedom to speak out against your government is the difference between being a citizen and a subject.

It is just the opposite, Hong Kong is the home to thousands of dissent fleed from mainland China because they told Chinese people what their government don't want them to know. Beijing had asked to deport those dissent and people in Hong Kong refused.

Beijing would like Snowden to be deported back to U.S, because once Hong Kong deported him, Beijing would asked the deportation of those dissent back to China for same reason.
and that is why people in Hong Kong support Snowden so much.
