I have this condition, the folds were tighter in my younger years. But I started doing scalp massages with coconut parachute oil. I noticed the folds would be so tight, my hair would be trapped in the middle. Aside from that, I was able to loosen up the folds with scalp massages and oiling. Losing weight also helped me along with being active. 😊

Thank you so much for your transparency! And the courage to tell your story. Also you gathered some research that really helps to explain exactly what we’re dealing with. Wish you and anyone else living with the condition a prosperous and thriving existence.

Thanks for this video! Just found out today that I had this after cutting my hair and it’s cool to know others are talking about it in a positive light. I think that the brain resemblance is kind of cool tbh. Take care !

I honestly never even knew this was an actual condition, I literally just thought it was skin folds and never put that much thought into it. It's interesting to see there can be pretty extreme cases of it. Thanks for the information, learning something new every day

Literally thank you so much for this video. I recently just shaved my head in order to free myself from believing that my femininity relayed on the length of my hair. To my surprise my scalp had folds in it! I didn’t know my scalp looked like this! I grew up just believing I had a stretchy scalp. You showing people who are great at what they do while having CVG was a great addition to the video. Sincerely thank you for this. Truly made me feel less alone and less insecure about this. Heavy on the being gentle w self and hey, if I am an alien, that’s fine by me! 😂 this was a delightful watch, thank you fr for taking the time to make this video, educating others and reassuring us as well. Wow. Thank you bc I really needed this

Love this video. I have the condition and im 24 now but it began at around 15. I actually got bullied in school for it when I had my haircut so its something im super insecure about. with girls too and with everything overall I just rly feel uncomfortable about it. Thankfully I do have thick hair which grows fast so im able to hide it but just crossing my fingers that it doesnt thin out and bald later down the line as mine is more severe than yours too. Thank you for shedding light on the topic and its nice to see so many in the comments who are in the same boat as us. take care everyone!

Thank you so much Brother for making this video this was the first video I've seen that expounded on the condition. I've had it since I was a teen. I thought it was from pulling my hair to tight with the hair ties, but they got deeper as I matured. I'm self conscious thank goodness I'm a female and my hair is a descent length. I'm subconscious to go to beauty salons, or for anyone to touch my head. I did ask the Dr's about it and as you do duely noted most don't have a clue on what causes it. Sometimes mine indentations pain me(irritating feeling). But I live with it. I'm glad to know I'm not alone on the world and it's nothing to be ashamed of. Thank you❤

I noticed mine when i was about 16 am now 24, i had a friend in class who had it too i.e high school but ...i wasnt bothered by it for sometime until like a year and a half ago wanting to change my hair style to suit my beard, I think its very great to see guys talking about and we should just embrace it and live with it compared to other conditions one might have ended up with...Thanks again for the video was very educative and encouraging

Mine looks like the video you posted towards the end, it doesn’t hurt or smell or anything but it does make me think about my health and possible medical issues down the line, I’ve looked into the scalp reduction and it’s pretty pricey. I just want it taken down some, I’d love to have short hair but can’t out of embarrassment, my mom discovered it as I was getting my fade when I was in 10th grade. It’s good to see more people expressing this, salute from Orange County brothers and sisters, be safe. God bless

Thanks for this video! My husband has this and hasn't ever been bothered to look up what it might be. They don't bother him, but I suspect that will change as he's starting to lose hair on top of the folds. I don't care about them, hes so much more than his scalp - an amazing dad and husband. Cheers!

Seems like more people are finding out they have this. I shaved my head in 2018 and discovered I had it. Didn’t have it when I was a teenager, so this just came sometime in my early 20s.

I did research on it right after I found out and there were about 4 videos on this and very little on google.

So happy to see more people coming out about this

I'm very happy to see somebody share their experience about CVG. I've done my research as well and you'll be surprised a lot of people are getting this condition. I started to develop CVG when I was 11 year old and honestly I wish there was a cure for this condition.

Good on you Bro! I've knew about mine for around 16 years, hopefully more people will look in to fillers or something for this so I can buzz my hair easier.
The case in the video looks like he doesn't even have CVG, almost like they are pushing a normal head together in the first picture.

I just came up on this video. I’m 40 now. But I first noticed it when I also cut down an Afro at around age 14. I’ve kind of learned to live with it but I try to keep my hair at a length to where you can’t see it. One thing I did notice is when I had a hair transplant, about four years ago. when you get the hair transplant, you have to get this injection that swells up your head. they shaved my head and I barely noticed any of the indentations because I guess whatever they injected in my scalp expanded it so this makes me think that it could be something similar to a possible treatment.
