Dear Rudy, thanks a lot for sharing this great video.
I'm looking forward to test this setup with my signals.
So far I've been using some left over K83 decoders, combined with bistable relays that I've assembled on a PCB. However, this is a limited solution, considering that one single 4 aspect signal will use all outputs of one K83, whilst, with your solution, besides being much less costly, with a single Arduino, one can control 4 signals of this type! That's really great! Thanks.

Rudy, this is great stuff - many thanks for this. Based on what you present here I think it should be possible to use just a simple 8-pin AVR Microcontroller costing very little (UK prices 70p or so) instead of the Arduino which would mean you could build a DCC decoder for even less - though of course an 8-pin device might only provide 4 outputs - but for many purposes that would be plenty I think? I will have a go at that and if I succeed, I will post a video on it.

Thanks again for a clear, complete and well produced video. So nice to see YouTube videos with such clear and un-shakey camera work!

hi Rudy. first time on your channel. great video. i have to dust off my arduino uno from the shelf. i want to write your code on a attiny 4313 (4kb flash memory) . but i think this will not be enough. i think i will une an arduino nano

Hey, is there a possiblity to use multistate Values? In JMRI there is the possibillity to set up a signal, which can show 4 different states with one DCC address. How must I change the code, that it supports more than on and off?

Thanks for the cool video.

Hi Rudy, Excellent video, very informative for a (retired) novice like me. Any chance of getting a ‘modified’ sketch including a yellow signal and expand it to cover 8 sensors and 16 signals.my system a marklin 3 rail with digitrax DSC52 command station. Thanking you in advance. Jay (melbourne au)

Hi, is it possible to control RGBW strips via DCC for a day/night simulation? Or do you need another Arduino to control it?

Hi Rudy, the decoder works great with Arduino Uno, but i want to use an ATTiny85 for this project. Can you help me ?
Thank You !

Hi Rudy thank you for the video, Is there any way you can modify the sketch so that the decoder can operate from a Digitrax Loconet using Loconet.h and an interface card. Thanks Wally.

Hi Rudy. Great video! The Optocopler module u use in the video, is it custom build? Or is it possible to by this somwhere?

Hi Rudy... you show the output from the 6n137 unit going to the arduino 5v and gnd pins (I think) and the interupt going to pin 2. You are also powering the Arduino from the USB port. Assuming I want to power the arduino board not connected to the USB port, am I correct in thinking I can just add a 12v dc supply to the Vin and gnd ports of the arduino to draw power from that or will there be a conflict... ie should I put the 12v through an lm7805 first and just connect up all the 5v rails? thanks in advance.

Hi great video. Can a 4N25 - Phototransistor Optocoupler IC be used instead of the 6n137 ??

Dear Rudy, Thanks a lot about this Video! About "Z21 Address", I want underline that the correct code, that you are suggested me in the past ... ;-) is this: address = address + 4;
