One side of the planet would be subjected to continuous, blistering heat for about six months, while the other half would be plunged into a frozen, eternal night for the same period. The Earth could slow down stop and switch directions but it's almost impossible for it to happen suddenly and instantly... It would take an extraordinarily dumb amount of gravitational or magnetic waves thats just unlikely

A doubt. What is the upper surface and ground surface of the earth we live in? Through which way they go out of the round earth.If that were the case, wouldn't we be thrown off the fast rotating round earth?
