Aerial footage of England's West Midland revealed the extent of storm damage on Tuesday, as environmental agencies issued severe flood warnings.

Residents in central England and Wales piled up sandbags, readied water pumps and hoped for the best as rivers peaked after Storm Dennis dumped weeks' worth of rain in some places.

The weekend storm brought up to 6 inches (150 mm) of rain to an already waterlogged region.

Environment agencies in England and Wales on Tuesday declared eight severe flood warnings, meaning there was an immediate danger to life, for the rivers Severn, Wye and Lugg.

Two other severe warnings were lifted.

About 150 less severe flood warnings were also in place.

The storm's confirmed death toll rose to three as West Mercia Police said a body had been found in the search for a 55-year-old woman who had been missing near Tenbury in Worcestershire since Sunday.
