For those people having problems with bootcamp assistant not working after updating the info.plist file, you'll need to open up terminal and type this in:

sudo codesign -fs - /Applications/Utilities/Boot\ Camp\ Assistant.app

that'll "resign" Bootcamp and it should now use the new info.plist file.

Other than that, great video, thanks!

when Bootcamp is finished partitioning my hard drive, it restarts and all i get is an error
NO BOOTABLE DEVICE - INSERT BOOT DISC AND PRESS ANY KEY

i restarted my mbp and clicked the option key to chose between OS X or my windows usb. after i run the usb it seems windows starts to load but just freezes at windows is loading files.

i was wondering if theres a way to solve this issue.
thank you.

I just wanna say that you need "pre" is needed. If you don't see the option to generate the Windows key in Boot Camp Assistent, it's because the "pre" prefix miss from your pinfo file. So add it. Just did on Mac OS X 10.7.5.

I dont get the "create a Windows 7 or later version install disk" so I went into the info.plist file but its completely different to yours and the usb key part doesnt have "Pre" in it. Do you know whats going on and how I can fix it?

Hi, thanks for the tip. I do have to ask you if you can help me out. I changed successfully the preusb and the option appeared, made the usb a WININSTALL with a iso mage from a DVD. But when it restarts to install after making the partition this message still appears: "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key". I tried many times and I cannot find the way. If you can give some advice I will greatly appreciate. Thanks!

after doing your Info.plist modification, Boot Camp Assistant just won't open-I tried reverting to the original .plist and it still doesn't work-good think I don't use BC on this system

Good Guide ! But my problem is that our '' Info.plist '' are not equal. I have examples not nearly as much text and the key > USB is not . What to do well ?
IMAC 10.6.8
Thx

For newer Versions of OS X these are the steps for doing this.

1. Restart into recovery

2. Open terminal and type "csrutil disable" and hit return

3. Restart normally

4. Edit the .plist either directly or by dragging a pre made one into the folder

5. Open terminal and enter "sudo codesign -fs - /Applications/Utilities/Boot\ Camp\ Assistant.app" and hit return

6. Your all done.

"Sidenote"
You may/may not need the root account to make changes. also i recommend reenabling SIP after you are done. You can do so by repeating steps 1-2 except replace "disable" with "enable"
