We Went to the GATES OF HELL. You Won’t Believe What We Found!

Standing in Caesarea Philippi, Jesus declares:

"And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it! (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭18‬)"

For centuries, people have debated what Jesus really means when he says these words.

Is he building his church upon Peter?
Does this mean that Satan cannot prevail over the church?
What do all these terms like “rock” and “gates of hell” really mean?

Well, this is one of those moments where the place where Jesus is teaching makes a HUGE difference when trying to understand a passage.

My husband and I went to Ceaseria Pilipia (sp) when we went to Israel. I had been diagnosed with PTSD from childhood and adult abuse. I had severe anxiety. When I was standing by that Cave and realized that Pan was the "god" of panic. I knew he DID NOT rule over me. From that time in 2012 to this YESHUA has been healing me. I take very little if any anxiety meds. Praise Yeshua.

On my trip to Israel, this stop was one of my favorite ah ha moments. Bells went off in my soul and the life in the Word became visceral. The depths of debauchery were being directly challenged by Jesus and these 12 young disciples. He wanted them to see the physical and spiritual fight they were getting involved in. We are fighting the same fight armored with the same truth. Its not time to back down, but push forward. Wreak havoc on the gates of hell. Overcome evil with good.
