JK Rowling reignites row with Harry Potter stars

JK Rowling won’t forgive Harry Potter actors for trans stance Vogue.
Author JK Rowling has reignited a row with Harry Potter stars Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe over the issue of transgender identity and rights.

The writer hit out at "celebs" who she said had "used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors".

Radcliffe and Watson are among the film's cast members who spoke out against Rowling's stance on gender identity in 2020.

The BBC has asked Radcliffe and Watson for responses to her latest comments.

Rowling has also welcomed a review that raised concerns about gender identity services for under-18s.

I don't have a problem with trans people they have a right to exist just the way everybody else .
As a parent I have a problem with a grown man wearing a dress walking into the restroom where my child is using the toilet.
I have a problem with is somebody telling me that I absolutely have to respect them when in my opinion they haven't done a damn thing to deserve my respect I'll be courteous but respect is earned it's not freely given.

The issue of transwomen using women's bathrooms should be dealt with AFTER some measure or test is put in place so ONLY true-transwomen get to call themselves transwomen, and those weirdo men who are lying about their transness get identified and dealt with accordingly and appropriately.

I don’t think women have an issue with trans women who look like women using women’s restrooms or locker rooms - every story about this involves someone who looks fully male. Why would that NOT startle us? I bet everything I have that Emma Watson herself would’ve been shook if an apparent male walked naked in front of her in a women’s locker room when she was a child. Insisting on the right to do this is where you’re losing us. Respect and empathy has to go both ways.
