Polls have been wrong a lot in the past, and with good reason - they’re only meant to be snapshots of that particular moment in time. It could be different next week. They’re also paid for by both parties, and some of them like that Atlas poll that Republicans love touting isn’t even based in the US. They’re a Brazilian company that you have to opt into to even take their surveys and therefore their sample size is totally skewed, you can access them anywhere in the world if you’re using an American VPN (so people in Africa and Asia can take their presidential polls if they have access to one), and they do surveys all over the world. I really wouldn’t put much faith in any of them. It’s really impossible to tell who is really ahead at this point because everything is within the margin of error, and it’s been that way for a while. I can say this, this election doesn’t feel like 2016.
