SHOCK: AOC EXPLODES On Jill Stein, Calls Her "Predatory" & HUGE WAR Breaks Out... (Is AOC Right?)

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Lashes Out at 'Predatory' Jill Stein
In an Instagram story posted on Sunday, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat, blasted Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein as "predatory" due to her multiple runs for the White House while struggling to grow the third party at the grassroots level.

In 2016, Stein played kingmaker in several key battleground states. Her vote total was higher than Donald Trump's margin of victory in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan—prompting intense backlash from Democrats and political pundits. Not only was Stein widely condemned as a spoiler, but former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who was the Democratic nominee during the 2016 election, later accused her of being a "Russian asset."

Ocasio-Cortez accused Stein and the Green Party, which reached its current party status in 2001, for only putting its emphasis on presidential elections. To date, no Green Party candidate has ever held a federal office and only a handful have been elected as state legislators.

Ocasio-Cortez, responding to a question from an Instagram follower about Jill Stein's candidacy, said that "this is a little spicy, but I have thoughts."

"If you run for years in a row, and your party has not grown, has not added city council seats, down ballot seats and state electives, that's bad leadership. And that to me is what's upsetting," the congresswoman said about Stein.

It's hard to take her seriously when her entire political work history consists of a town rep decades ago. She's never run for a house or senate seat but wants to jump all the way to President. I like her platform and what she says, but she has next to zero record in any office. I don't trust her.

I'm actually a Green Party voter (not from the US, though), and I have my agreements with Jill Stein, but has anyone else noticed how she's always running for POTUS, if a Democrat is the incumbent? Why that? In a winner takes it all system (which YES, should be abolished) you're basically ending up as a spoiler. And yes, coming out only every 4 years is essentially bad leadership, I'm sorry.

who here thinks that supporting Russia's invasion of Ukraine was a progressive stance taken by Stein? Personally, I support freedom fighters and that includes the Ukrainians and the Palestinians.

I love how the diss on Stein not making ground as the party's nominee for the past 12 years is also targeting Trump who has lead his party for 12 years of continuous stagnation and decline.

I'd still rather have ranked choice voting than the system we have now.

As The Rational National pointed out, a lot of the "small seats" that the Green Party holds were won without an opponent on the ballot!

I am glad AOC said something. It started a conversation about the Green Party long needed.

I voted for her in 2016 but I was confused that she’s still the rep in 2024. Like shouldn’t she be promoting someone else to take over the party?

Never forget Jill Stein was sitting at the dinner table with Vladimir Putin and traitor Michael Flynn.

Jill Stein is good at 1 thing. Taking people's money every 4 years and doing nothing.

It is not a waste of time for AOC to make the statement. I am glad she brought attention to it. AOC has a seat in congress and is educating the public what is going on . Thanks AOC.

Jill Stein? She’s back? Why? Did she even campaign or just puts herself on the ballot and calls it a day?

AOC is right
Jill isn’t a serious political candidate

Jill Stein Has been running since I was in my early 20's, I'm 35 now about to be 36. Jill Stein hasn't done shit to grow her party. Her whole purpose is to help the republicans. Her party is more left than the Dems, so a serious candidate would rather side with a party closest to them then help the republican party. I'm voting for Harris, but that doesn't mean I don't have my criticisms of her and the party as whole.

The Republican party is bad and has gotten worse, but that is in direct correlation of the Dem Party's failures. The dems, while better than Repubs on social issues, have sucked almost as bad as republicans on Fiscal issues. Case in point that regardless of whether Obama or Romney was elected we would have gotten the Affordable Care Act, but Romney's version would have been worse for regular working Americans.

We don't have a left in this country. We have a bat shit crazy right or a center right, at least on the presidential level.

As usual, she's correct. I know a lot of people get upset when she talks about the realities of our system- but she's absolutely correct.

As a former Jill stein voter AOC does have a bit of a point. Because I live in Illinois I voted for Stein against Hillary(could not listen to her, made me nauseated.). And was going to vote for her again because I couldn’t vote for a demented old man. Harris/Walz has given me just a bit hope, so that’s how I will be voting.

I voted for her 2016- never again. I think she’s too full of herself.

Ranked choice voting would not help maintain the 2 party system. In ranked choice you're not wasting your vote voting for 3rd party. If I vote for a lefty now, I'm helping Trump get elected. If it's ranked choice then I can vote Lefty > Kamala > Trump. You get enough people to do that, and enough libs to vote Kamala > Lefty > Trump. There's a chance a strong lefty candidate wins. Even if Kamala wins we don't fall into facism. Which is at least the bare minimum.

I was once a Green Party voter, and pretty enthusiastic.
Jill Stein is pointless by now. Unlike Nader, she has no history of doing anything. She pops up every 4 years, and only every 4 years, barely shows up, and what's the point of it. I've seen fewer and fewer Green candidates on my local ballots over the years. Stein is probably not completely to blame, but it's become a weaker party since she's been the figurehead. They need someone else, someone with more appeal, someone with more background of accomplishment (and I don't mean a college professor).
