Thank you for an honest review. Have a like my friend. Simple, to the point, explanative enough for the more in depth people and clear enough for the normies. Continue reviewing products. You’ve got a formula that isn’t like every single YTer out there.

These are incredible earbuds and I’m watching this video with them on. I really don’t know why so many people dislike them best earbuds I’ve ever owned.

the weird thing with their quality is, I own many of their earbuds cause I used to be sponsored by them, and the tuning never seemed to be consistent. For example: my white pairs have all the problems you described, but my black ones don't have the high frequency sharpness. My blue ones sound like the white and red sound closer the the black. Almost seems like the tuning is arbitrary haha. I actually enjoy using my black ones for the gym, so I was thinking maybe it's possible they have some manufacturing issues they need to iron out. idk

what a great review that really finds the perfect balance between providing enough relevant information about the device's characteristics while not going too far into detail. I also appreciate your focus on the sound and non-professional looking setup and your entertaining vlog-ish style (I think that's part of a 'new' wave of doing youtube that's gaining popularity since a few years now, which I really like ) and that you get straight to the point.

Like, your intro is about 1 min (while also being entertaining which let's be honest most video (essay) intros aren't) and your video in total 5 min. Most reviews typically do like 3 mins of boring introduction and then 10 mins of talking about all the features and how they compare to other headphones etc.

And I think it's good that there are channels that do a more in-depth analysis and comparison for if you are considering to buy headphones A or headphones B (usually to get recommended headphones C which most of the time are super expensive and sometimes even sponsoring the video lolol). But to just get a quick summary, it's often times really exhausting to skip through several videos only to find that they don't talk about the measured sound quality.

Like, not that that would prove anything, but apparently only non-tech-youtubers have a Raycon sponsorship, I never once saw a tech oder audio channel recommend or even be sponsored by them. Tbf I don't really follow any, but my general experience is that every person with some kind of expertise who reviews these earbuds says they're garbage regarding the sound.

Kinda makes me think that people paid by Raycon saying their earbuds sound "really good" or that they're "half the price of other premium quality earbuds" (yeah right) - not only are they just repeating what they're told (at least regarding the HaLf tHe pRiCe thing) but they also apparently have no idea of good sound quality. They just don't know what they're talking about (although it I wonder how artists can recommend them, like, shouldn't they know better?? kinda makes me wonder how good a musician they actually are or at least question their professional qualities.

I myself made the mistake of blindly trusting some influencers' recommendations without really informing myself beforehand. Just goes to show how effective advertising can be. After like two weeks of usage one of the earbuds simply stopped working and after another two weeks they both didn't really function anymore. Admittedly I have a really bad hand for tech stuff, I'm always the <5% that face some issue with a new device, but that shouldn't really count as an indicator.

Also the customer service was super bad. It took multiple emails over the course of several weeks (very long response time) to get them to give me back my money. Interestingly they didn't even want the earbuds back, which isn't a good sign.
I found the sound to be mediocre at best. I had Marshall Minor earbuds before which were really great, not quite as good as the Marshall Major headphones (back then Major III, the newest version is Major V), but still pretty close.

Because I only had good experiences with Marshall and never had any high quality in-ear headphones or earbuds and considering that there's way less resonance from your skull and the sound is directly in your ear, I assume that in-ear always has a little less quality than on-ear or over-ear. So I'm always a little more forgiving with in-ears than I'm with on- or over-ears. But considering that Raycon always advertise their earbuds as "premium quality", they really really undermined my expectations.

If I had to describe the sound in one term, I'd say it's "low resolution". I don't know if that's a technical sound term, but for me low quality in sound very often feels exactly like low resolution in picture looks like. So if studio headphones are like 4K or 8K, Raycon earbuds are maybe 360p. There are many in-ears and even on-ears that sound way worse but for that price you would expect much more.

The earbuds sound muddy, muffled, too much bass, as you said, and the sparks are really only bearable in bass boost mode which itself drowns out everything else. I tried to balance it out with my music player's equalizer but an EQ can only do so much (I can only recommend Musicolet as music player, and I mean that's really the only one I would recommend to anybody, I tried dozens and almost all of them sucked, not only in comparison). Admittedly, I didn't have the Wavelet app back then which is really great, but that shouldn't be the breaking point.

Also, I noticed that when you activate the in-app EQ in Musicolet, if you have great headphones, the overall sound usually gets slightly altered to the negative. Like, you can't really pin-point it to any particular frequency, it just sounds a little less good. But with Raycon, it actually sounded a significant amount better (still not good but kinda ok), which is hilarious.

From that day on, I use Musicolet's equalizer as partial judgement when I firstmid-quality headphones. If the sound quality gets slightly less good or basically stays the same with the EQ on, they're ok. But if the sound quality isn't super good to begin with and actually gets improved by activating the EQ, I won't touch these headphones ever again because who knows how they sound when I put on this band or that genre (pro tip: if you wanna test the low frequency of a pair of headphones, put on Lorna Shore - Pain Remains and pay attention to how detailed bass guitar and drums are).

I appreciate the honest review. I am planning on buying both a budget and a premium pair of earbuds. I was considering these since I always see sponsorships from them, but now I know.

I buy ear buds for one thing and one thing only: the sound quality.

I dont care about anything else.
Not the unnecessarily overdone packaging,
not the power-consuming sound iscolation/ambient sound nonsense
Not the "ear detection" stuff,
None of that.

Sound quality is all i care about. The core purpose of anybody buying ear buds.

And they failed to deliver on that.

Thank you for being honest about Raycons.

Interesting experience the host here had. I've had a pair of these for about a year and I feel like they might be one of the best sets of earbuds I've ever owned. And I love the sounds they produce.

Came for a Raycon review and left with a SoundPeats discovery. Thank you so much. You helped me dodge a bullet.

The sound quality is a lot better than other earbuds I’ve tried. It’s not that bad honestly

Bought mine a few months ago, and there was already issues from day 1. Within the first hour, sound would randomly cut out from either earphone, making me have to cut them off and on each time, then the case itself sometimes won't even recognize that there's an earphone inside of it meaning that it wont charge it.

Appreciate your honest feedback. I was about to buy these. What I can say for sure is: One flight without any headphones is one too many!
Fellow travelers? Love ya, but 5+ hrs w/o noise canceling headphones is too much! 😅 4got my Bose so just need a moderate quality substitute for the flight back home. 🏡

Raycons in my opinion are some of the best ever day headphones. They don’t have a point hanging of the end of the them you can adjust them however you want just by holding in the side. And depending on which ones you get they all have their different features. But if you’re looking for an affordable option then just wasting your money on like 2 or 3 pairs of AirPods because you lost them or something then just go with these instead. I’m still first pair and I’ve been dropping these things so often and they still work and look great.

PS IM NOT SAYING THAT THERE AREN’T BETTER OPTIONS IM JUST SAYING THAT THESES ARE A GOOD SAVIOR FOR YOUR WALLET OF YOU DONT HAVE A LOT OF MONEY AND CANT SPEND 100 DOLLARS ON A PAIR OF AIRPODS.

Thanks dude. So many people only focus on other things than sound quality, presumably to makr a sale, and that's all I care about and you had the answer
