Donald Trump vows to withdraw funding for Ukraine

Donald Trump has said he will end American involvement in the war in Ukraine if he secures a return to the White House, in comments that will prompt deep concern in Kyiv.

Although the United States has not sent troops to Ukraine, it has supplied the vast majority of weapons to Kyiv as it fights off Russia’s invasion. President Zelensky said in April that Ukraine would have “no chance of winning” without US military assistance.

I’m a Trump supporter but I fear what will come of Ukraine and Russia’s positioning and the rest of the EU if Ukraine does fall. Besides the consequences already supporting the war, there will also be a lot of potential consequences to come if support for Ukraine ends. It’s kinda pitiful to pull out of a war when you’ve been supporting them for this long. It some ways it’s comparable to the afghan ordeal… it’ll only make Russia stronger and Trump speaks as if there is no Ukraine left when 80% of Ukraine is still intact.



I also wanted to add you can never be certain but I feel like Putin is threatening nukes as a way to gain leverage over the Ukraine situation, he’s desperate and sees his struggles and is trying to bluff his way out for the west to stop its support. At the of the day, there are no winners in a nuclear war and the United States will most certainly strike back just as hard which will be the end of Putin, his family and his regime. China and India will also be wary, I do not think Putin will take such risk.

He wants Europe to pick up a significant amount of the bill for their own security
Every nato country is supposed to pat 2% of their GDP until this war only a few did and the USA has been bank rolling nato for 50 years. Even now less than 1/2 the countries in nato are meeting their financial obligations

Trump never started any conflicts when he was president. I suspect if Trump was still president there would be more of an effort to get peace talks going which would have saved a lot of lives & billions of dollars.

Donald Trump forgets that while Russia may have defeated Napoleon; that Russia only defeated the Germans with mega tons of food, transportation equipment (trucks, trains, etc), military equipment, aircraft, and munitions supplied from the United States to them in WW II.

Without the USA support Germany would have defeated the Soviet Union.

He also forgets that a good portion of the troops fighting with Russia was in fact Ukrainian troops at the time.
